Lone worker safety and personal mobile alarm systems are increasingly important considerations for employers.Partially driven by economic necessity, companies and organisations are having to 'do more with less’ which could mean that work which has previously been done by two or more people, is now being carried out by just one person.
Whilst it may be a more cost effective way of doing things, it is essential that the lone worker is kept safe. Geonovo's RSP-100 personal safety phone is a simple and effective lone worker solution that offers much more than a simple SOS panic alarm.
The RSP-100 GPS personal tracking device is fully compliant with the British Standard 8484 Code of Practice, a key specification of which is that a person carrying a lone worker protection device should be able to be located within 10 metres.
The Corporate Manslaughter Act, with its threat of unlimited fines or even imprisonment for senior managers held responsible for a gross breach of the duty of care, has certainly brought the issue of lone worker protection to the fore. But even without the Act, businesses and organisations have increasingly been taking a more pro-active approach towards protecting vulnerable staff. More and more there is the realisation that staff morale and retention is improved when a company demonstrates that it is prepared to invest in the welfare of its personnel.
This diagram shows how suitable different lone worker alarm device designs are for use as a voice communication device. The RSP-100 can be used instead of a mobile phone for many different lone worker applications, saving you money by replacing 2 devices with one Voice and Lone worker Alarm system

This is what David Kelly, Domino's Pizza’s National Loss Prevention and Security Manager, had to say after investing in the RSP-100 GPS safety alarm to provide protection for the company’s delivery staff:
Our company decided to implement a Lone Worker Protection scheme for its delivery personnel. The company takes its corporate responsibilities very seriously and has a zero tolerance policy on any aggression shown towards its employees who work in any of its 570 Domino's Pizza stores located throughout the UK and Ireland. Our research for a solution led us to the RSP-100. From a company point of view the RSP-100 successfully does “what it says on the box” by getting the location of the individual staff member and a description of exactly what is going on to the police and it does so a lot quicker than had previously been possible via telephone.

At the same time, two-way voice communication can be established between the lone worker and the alarm receiving centre operator who, depending on the nature of the incident, can take appropriate action, e.g. call the police or other emergency services.
A lone worker also has the option to call for assistance using any of the four pre-programmed speed dial keys. One of these keys, however, is normally allocated to allow lone workers to leave a recorded message when they arrive at an appointment. This message is safely stored on a server and can be quickly retrieved if the user is out of contact for a specified period of time or if there is concern for their welfare. Calls can be received at any time just like any other phone whilst, if authorised, lone workers can store and call up to 20 other telephone numbers.
The buttons can also be programmed to perform other commonly used functions such as to transmit the time of arrival at an appointment or place of work. As well as being used for lone worker protection, this allows businesses to consider using the RSP-100 for other reasons such as workforce optimisation, time & attendance and payroll applications.
